Well hello Autumn Term!  We hope you have all had a lovely Summer break and are all refreshed for a new term.  We are so excited to be welcoming our newest Grove Valers as they begin their primary school journey! This term we will begin by helping the children to settle in, make friends and learning our school rules before moving on to some exciting learning opportunities so take a look at some of the things we will be doing over the coming weeks. Keep up to date by using Tapestry and look out for our memos which will give you further information throughout the term.

Teacher Led Topic this half term:

Our Topic this half term is Marvellous Me. To introduce our topic we will be making biscuit faces, going on a senses walk around school and making houses including our family. There will be some taught sessions and then further activities to develop and support your child's interests. These will cover the 7 Areas of Learning in the EYFS Educational Programmes.

Swimming Information

SWIMMING: for this half term we are going to take 2 family groups at a time and alternate this every other week.  We will confirm the start date for swimming in the first few weeks, once we have seen how the children have settled in.

Please see the uniform leaflet for guidance on the appropriate swimwear.

No jewellery is allowed at all.

ALL children need a NAMED bag with a named swimming hat and towel.

School staff are supporting with swimming, both at the poolside and in the changing rooms.

* If you wish your child to wear swimming goggles you must send in written permission for your child. You only need to do this once as the letter will be kept for the rest of the term.
* It would be very helpful if girls could wear socks rather than tights as they are finding these difficult to put back on.
